In this post I am going to help you create your morning/me time ritual. We all can benefit from having a little time in the morning before heading onto our busy day. Sometimes despite our good intentions we skip this part. How many times did you say I will get up one hour earlier to begin your day and somehow that didn’t happen? It has happened to me.

Well let me tell you it takes a little discipline and you don’t have to make it an hour all at one time and it doesn’t even have to happen in the morning. The important thing is that you carve out some time in the day that you spend reflecting or journaling or meditating or whatever restores your energy. You will be the one to pick how your time is spent.

Before we get busy here are a few of the benefits that will come from taking some time for you.

A Few Benefits

  1. Reduced stress and Anxiety
  2. Better self-awareness
  3. Better productivity
  4. Can improve relationships
  5. Better concentration

These are only a few benefits you will notice and there are many more but you get the idea.

Let’s get started. My recommendation is to give it a slow start. This will ensure that you don’t get overwhelmed. I will use morning as an example but you can carve this time out anywhere that you feel is best to have your me time. They say it takes 30 days to create a habit so we will begin with 30 days. You will have to dedicate yourself to 30 days.

Steps to create your Morning/me time ritual

  • Start with 30 minutes each day.
  • Choose a time you will fit this in each day.
  • Choose a space that you will enjoy your time.  (Bedroom (I have a chair), Kitchen, Patio)

These are examples and the space will be whatever works for you.

  • Choose what you will do during your 30 minute me time (Journaling,  Meditation, Have a quiet cup of tea while reflecting)

These are examples but you can choose whatever you want.

  • Set a reminder on your phone or calendar or however will benefit you best as a reminder.
  • Begin your practice.

You can find an example of my morning routine In the post I have linked here My Routine

Here are a few things to remember when building a routine for yourself.  If you miss a time don’t be hard on yourself. We all have our moments and practice makes perfect they do say. Just begin again the next day and keep going. This is you time so make sure you schedule it when you can really have the you time. You may have to be creative with this. It needs to be daily.

Feel free to post here in the comments below how you are doing. We would love to hear your routine.

Nice tips to get your mind refocused and ready for the day. I love it when the house is quiet and it is only me up and a cat or two. LOL

I love that you considered that everyone is different and provided choices for time, place, and possible activities.

My morning routine is quite stressful as I need to get two children to school, but I shall give your suggestions a go and hope that things will get better.

Love mornings routines. Hubby and I got a pretty good one, but before heading out the door, we both sit down and read our little daily declarations to set our mind right to face the day.

Morning rituals are must as they are the roots of how the day turns out. Starting with affirmations/gratitude and then followed with prayers helps me to stay in positive and happy mood. Thanks for reminding.

I 100% agree that everyone should have a relaxing morning routine. Starting your day off rushed and stressed is no way to being a new day and really sets a theme/mood for the rest of the day. Great read!

Morning rituals are very important. I enjoy time alone before my daughters get up. Sometimes I read and sometimes I listen to podcasts. It helps me be in a more positive mode and put God first.
